Title: Meals on Wheels Dining Room Coordinator Position Type: Full Time Salary: $18.27-$20.00 This position is eligible for a 5% bilingual differential if the successful candidate meets the Food Share standard on an oral proficiency exam. ** This position is Open Until Filled - Applications will be first reviewed on Dec. 16th and after that as they are received. Summary of Role: The Dining Room Coordinator coordinates dining room lunch services and volunteer servers of the Meals on Wheels program, administered by Marion Polk Food Share at City of Salem Center 50+, and assists with catering and kitchen preparation and catering deliveries.

An individual who can work independently as well as with a team. Additionally, a person whose character can easily adjust and adapt to sudden changes within the program. Your responsibilities as the Meals on Wheels Dining Room Coordinator will include: •Supervises, trains, schedules, and coordinates all Meals on Wheels volunteer dining room helpers.
•Coordinates daily lunch service in the Meals on Wheels dining room.
•Sets up beverage and cashier stations.
•Comfortably utilizes POS software, TOAST. Ensure meal counts are logged for the South Salem Senior Center at the end of service.
•Sets up the volunteer cookie and coffee station including baking cookies daily.
•Operates cash register each day and delivers the proceeds to the MOW office at the end of each shift.
•Always maintains the highest food safety and sanitation standards.
•Ensures that the dining room is set up prior to the start of lunch service including wrapping the silverware, placing center pieces on tables, stocking the "grab and go" activity rack, preparing the food line area and stocking the beverage station.
•Assists with home delivered meal distribution by setting up and cleaning up food trays.
•Assists Executive Chef in distributing quarterly nutritional education for the dining room clients.
•Might run the South Salem Senior Center grab and go distribution. Including packing the meals and driving to and from the center.
•Assists the Meals on Wheels production kitchen staff as needed.
•Other duties as assigned.

Job Conditions: Work is mainly performed in a Dining Room setting and will require prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting. Will frequently lift, move and carry objects in excess of 30 pounds. Will require regular use of arms, hands, and fingers to handle, prepare and carry kitchen tools, food and drink. May frequently require bending, lifting, reaching, and stretching in a sometimes fast paced environment. This position will regularly deal with the public.
Hybrid/remote/onsite requirements: Remote work is NOT possible for this position.
Requirements
All candidates will need: •Prior experience in food service, catering, or dining room management is required.
•Must possess valid Oregon Driver's license and auto insurance.
•Current Food Handler's Card or the ability to obtain and maintain one within 30 days of employment.
•Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and full background check, including driving record check and eligibility to work with vulnerable populations.
