COUNTRY Financial is seeking a Financial Reporting Manager who will lead a small team of accounting professionals. This role will be responsible for understanding new and current SSAP and GAAP requirements and determining appropriate accounting treatment. Additionally, the Financial Reporting Manager and team will be responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual management and regulatory financial statements, participating in the monthly close process and performing/reviewing variance analysis.

This position offers a hybrid work schedule and is based out of our corporate offices in Bloomington, IL.

How does a Financial Reporting Manager make an impact?

Coordinates the preparation of financial statements and related schedules/exhibits for internal management and regulatory agencies.
Oversees compliance with statutory accounting principles and procedures, generally accepted accounting practices and procedures, as well as regulatory and other external financial filing requirements.
Researches and implements changes in accounting rules, regulatory filing requirements, organization and company operations. Provides guidance to other areas as it relates to financial reporting requirements.
Manages the implementation and maintenance of disaster recovery plans and activities in assigned areas. Maintains current contact information for all employees in applicable areas and communicates with non-recovery employees during a disaster.
Fosters a positive environment where all team members are motivated and committed to contribute their best work.
Creates a safe environment where team members are supported to make decisions and take action to achieve goals and objectives.
Takes personal responsibility for making tough decisions, meeting commitments and adapting to ensure expected results are achieved.

Do you have what we're looking for?

CPA is preferred.
Prior experience with regulatory reporting is preferred
Exceptional organization skills, a detail orientation, and a proven ability to follow projects and issues through to completion.
Strong analytical skills
Proven ability to lead teams and manage staff.
Ability to understand and communicate the story behind the financial results to leaders of all levels within the organization.
Ability to research and apply accounting guidance.
This is a leadership role, which typically requires 8+ years of relevant experience or a combination of related experience, education and training, including management experience.
