Enchanted Dairy is looking to hire someone who enjoys working with animals and operating machinery while working with a team approach to feed the large herd of animals on our farm. Performing the duties of feeding and caring for all the nutritional needs of the livestock in the dairies facilities will be the primary focus along with scheduled maintenance of feed equipment.

Primary responsibilities:

• Check and provide fresh feed to all lactating animals on a timely basis (3 to 4 times per day) to be certain they are receiving adequate feed.
• Feed cows and heifers in a timely manner as outlined or directed by protocol.
• Watching the lots and barns and making sure they are cleaned and have adequate bedding daily or as directed by protocol.
• Check all lots at least once per day (dry cow, heifer and calf areas) to be certain cattle are not under stress due to weather conditions or low on feed.
• Maintain feed equipment as protocols call for each machine. Be certain all machinery is in working order. Notify manager immediately if any malfunctions occur.
• Keep a clean work environment both the equipment and feed pad where feed is stored.

Qualifications:

• Experience operating large equipment
• Basic knowledge of feed stuffs that are used in our ration.
• Be able to lift at least 50lb's on own free will
• work with a team but also independently at times
• Familiarity with tools used to maintain equipment.
