Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our denials team at an Acute/Ambulatory Center in Shreveport. This role requires relocation, with a furnished apartment and car provided. The ideal candidate will manage denial resolution processes, file appeals, and follow up with insurance on unpaid claims. This role is crucial in facilitating the financial operations of our medical practice while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

Duties

• Process patient billing and insurance claims accurately and efficiently.
• Review and verify patient information, including insurance details and medical records.
• Manage and resolve AR denials, including filing appeals and resubmissions.
• Follow up with insurance companies on unpaid claims to ensure prompt resolution.
• Handle medical collections, following up on outstanding claims and payments.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical billing regulations and practices, including ICD-10 and DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve discrepancies in billing or coding issues.
• Ensure accurate documentation of medical records in compliance with privacy regulations.
• Utilize the MEDITECH Expanse system for billing and account management.
• Ensure all medical records are accurately documented and stored in compliance with privacy regulations.

Skills

• Proficiency with MEDITECH Expanse is required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in medical billing, with a focus on collections.
• Proficiency in medical coding systems, including ICD-10.
• Strong understanding of medical billing processes, medical collections, and insurance claim management.
• Experience working in a Ambulatory Center is preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.
